The many fabulous hats (and fashions) of Kambriel
We shot these at the studio during her visit last month. It was like a photography slam, we were grabbing props and wardrobe in quick succession to shoot as much as we could before she flew back to NC. Props from Something Borrowed.
‘Are you in love with me?,’ -The Great Gatsby

Peacock Blue
The start of a million photos of the Kambriel and her wonderful fashion creations. Taken out at the Maryhill Museum of Art as we fruitlessly searched for their resident peacocks, Must have been too cold for the poor birds. A bright and beautiful day for us though!
The Dollmaker
Model is Heather Rabbit
Hair and makeup by Gina Campbell
Table and glassware from Something Borrowed
(The bowl in the middle is full of doll hands with their fingers sticking up. It’s hard to see at this size, but it’s delightfully creepy.)
The Dream Seller
Model is Heather Rabbit
Hair and makeup by Gina Campbell
Props from Something Borrowed
(Special note for Portland peeps in the know: I found that dress in the Bins, can you believe it!?)
Blood Red
Model is Van Burnham
Hair and makeup by Gina Campbell
Velvet chair from Something Borrowed
The Candlestick Maker
(H/MU Gina Campbell, lovely model is Olive.)
Selkie
(For once I had the presence of mind to ask the model to bring shoes for sloshing around in the mud. To my great benefit she brought rubber waders, so she got to do this! I stood gingerly on the edge of the water however, because I did not bring waders. Shot in Oaks Bottom, the wonderful wildlife preserve near my house. I realize selkies come from the ocean, but she is wearing a seal skin coat so it seemed appropriate, and she looks a little lost. Maybe she is far from the sea, and looking for water. Model is Annie Montgomery, hair and makeup by Gina Campbell)
Winter Gold
(Model is Annie Montgomery, who is also a wonderful photographer and an amazing jewelry designer. I suspect she is from the land of fairy. Makeup and hair by my new favorite person, Gina Campbell.)
Medium
(These were shot through the lens of a jeweler’s visor, which created the ghostly refraction. If I held it just right it actually reflected what was behind me. I may use that odd feature in a future shoot. Model is Van Burnham, hair and makeup by Gina Campbell)
Prom Dress
(Model is the stunning Twila Jean)
Gown

Here’s a new approach to an old project. A color block of things I’ve been wearing everyday!
It’d be really cool...
